Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Sanford Labs LLC ("Sanford Labs", "we"), the company that operates JamDocs, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit jamdocs.io or use the JamDocs application. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information you provide, such as name, email address, and workspace details.
- Content you store in JamDocs: documents, runbooks, labels, and secrets you choose to add.
- Usage and device data collected automatically, such as pages viewed, referring site, browser, and approximate location, via our analytics provider.
How we use information
We use information to provide and operate the service, authenticate users, maintain security, respond to support requests, understand how the marketing site and product are used, and improve our offering. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our marketing site uses PostHog to understand how visitors use it, such as which pages they view and which sign-up buttons they click. On this site PostHog runs in cookieless mode: it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and it counts visitors with a hash that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. We do not use Google Analytics. The JamDocs application also uses PostHog, with cookies, and links that activity to your account once you sign in.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate (such as hosting and analytics providers), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of JamDocs and its users. Service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Data retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your workspace is active and as needed to provide the service. Analytics data is retained per our provider’s policy. You may request deletion of your data as described below.
Security
We protect data in transit with HTTPS and encrypt vault secrets at rest with AES-256. Access is private by default and governed by roles. See our Security page for details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under GDPR or CCPA). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
International transfers
We may process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps intended to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
